Directions from Prescott:

Go south on Mount Vernon Street, which becomes Senator Highway, about four miles to the entrance of the lake. Turn right and park in the designated parking spots only. There is a small parking fee of $3 per car and an annual pass is available.

Directions from Prescott:

Four miles north of downtown, this beautiful park allows access to Watson Lake and the boulders of the Granite Dells.  Boat rentals are located at the south boat ramp. There is a $3 per vehicle admission fee to enter the park.  Click here for color map of Watson Lake Park.

Goldwater Lake 

Enjoy the smell of fresh ponderosa pine trees at this secluded-feeling lake in the mountains. It’s easy to find tranquility on the teal green waters lined with lush foliage that provide a home for deer, ospreys, bald eagles, coyotes, fish, and more.

Watson Lake

Experience magnificent geological formations unlike anywhere else in the world. A true adventure awaits as you explore the open, deep blue waters for islands, sweeping granite walls, hidden nooks, and a plethora of wild bird species.

Camping and Fishing Info

Please note that we do not have the ability to reserve a campsite for you. This must be done through the City of Prescott or the Forest Service, depending on the site. We’ve provided the following information to help you make the most of your adventure!

Goldwater Lake

Fishing is allowed in Goldwater Lake with a valid AZ fishing license. 

Fish For: Rainbow trout, largemouth bass, sunfish, channel catfish, and crayfish.

Bag Limits:

  • Trout: 6
  • Bass: 1; minimum size 13 inches.
  • Catfish: 10
  • Sunfish, Carp and Bullheads: Unlimited

Overnight camping NOT AVAILABLE within Goldwater Lake Park. There is nearby camping available, within 5-8 miles from the lake.

Watson Lake

Fishing is allowed in Watson Lake with a valid AZ fishing license.  

Fish For: Rainbow trout, largemouth bass, sunfish, channel catfish, crayfish, and crappie.

Bag Limits:

  • Trout: 6
  • Bass: 6
  • Catfish: 10
  • Crappie: Unlimited
  • Sunfish, Carp and Bullheads: Unlimited
